Anchor of Discs

How do you tend your own garden?

[Traditionally called Queen of Pentacles]

Image description: A brown person with shoulder-length black, curly hair stands against a deep yellow background. Their eyes are softly closed, and a hint of facial hair traces their chin and below their full lips. They wear a sky-blue, button-up shirt and dangling earrings with beads and a large yellow disc on each end. It appears as though their arms are raised, perhaps absorbing and welcoming in the light of the sun. Although their face bears a neutral expression, the character looks as though any moment they will share a small, secret smile, just for us.

The Anchor of Discs [traditionally Queen of Pentacles] basks in the radiance of the sun’s glow, listening intently to their body’s wisdom as it sings its deep appreciation of the world around them. This Anchor is like a beloved tree- strong, deeply rooted, and offering those who enter their abode shade and ripe fruit. They are able to lose themself in the natural world around them and see their own essence reflected back to them. The Anchor of Discs is also deeply attuned with the Earth’s rhythms and mirrors these seasons in their own life. A natural healer, they have cultivated their relationship with the Earth and know what they have left, taken, and will one day pass on.

The Anchor of Discs is also determined and has cultivated a great deal of resilience and endurance. They remind us of how far we’ve come and how much we are capable of, as well as the need to have sacred spaces and times to recharge. While this Anchor can represent responsibilities in our life (often those that others do not see or take for granted), their tenacious energy is best applied to goals that provide us the fuel that we need to keep showing up in our lives. We can often identify this fuel by pausing and listening to our bodies. This could be as simple as carving out five minutes every day to simply close your eyes. Or perhaps it is committing to disappointing one person every week to help provide space for your wellbeing and begin de-conditioning yourself from the concept that your worth is predicated on your output. You are a sacred garden, inherently worthy of your own tending. What tending is your body asking you for?
